We review proxies because we live in them.
ProxyPeers is independent proxy intelligence written by people who scrape the web at scale — not marketers reselling a spec sheet. Every verdict is grounded in real jobs against real defenses.
The short version
We run large-scale data collection across stubborn targets — search engines, review platforms, e-commerce. That work forces you to learn proxies the hard way: which pools actually pass, where datacenter IPs fall over, how much residential really costs once the bytes add up. We started ProxyPeers to write down what we wish someone had told us.
What "first-hand" means here
When we say we tested a provider, we mean we routed production scraping jobs through it and watched the success rates. A few things we've learned in our own pipeline:
- Datacenter proxies throttle hard on real targets. On tough review pages we saw datacenter success collapse to roughly a fifth — residential was the only fix.
- The IP is necessary, not sufficient. We pair residential proxies with Camoufox (a hardened Firefox) under xvfb, consent-wall handling, and token replay for deep pagination. Blocks are a system problem, not just an IP problem.
- Geography is data quality. We rotate IPs per outlet and pin real regional ports — Mumbai for India, regional ports for the Gulf — because where you collect from changes what you collect.
Where we have, and haven't, tested
We're honest about the line. Providers we've run first-hand are labelled Tested. Providers we've compiled from public data and community reports are labelled Researched — solid editorial assessments, but not our own benchmarks yet. We update them as they enter our pipeline. See our methodology →
How we stay independent
ProxyPeers is reader-supported through affiliate links: if you buy through one, we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. That funds the testing — and it never decides the verdict. We rank on what works, including free and budget options that pay us little or nothing. If a provider we earn from is the wrong choice for your job, we'll say so.
